Big Day for Boivin in 8-1 Reds Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-1, with youngster Earl Boivin playing a key role. Boivin went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Reds in the win. Israel Castillo got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Brewers to no runs on 1 hit over 6 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2. With the win, the Reds have a record of 25-18.
The Reds got a big at-bat from first baseman Steve Carbone. For the game, Carbone was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 2-0 lead.
