Rays Trip Twins, 5-2
|
The Princeton Rays dealt the Elizabethton Twins a 5-2 loss at Joe O'Brien Field. Alex Santiago, who is tied for 6th in the APP in stolen bases with 5, was the star on offense. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Losses have been rare for the Twins, who are now 10-3.
Princeton used a well-timed hit by Ramon Franco to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Rays ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Santiago after the game.
