Corbin Schools Johnson City in 4-0 Boston (Rk+) Triumph
|
The Boston (Rk+) Red Sox received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Allan Corbin, allowing them to shoot down the Johnson City Cardinals, 4-0. At 8-9, the Red Sox are currently third in the East.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Corbin. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Red Sox. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Cardinals, striking out 5 and scattering 4 hits over 8 innings. Corbin is now 1-0 on the season.
"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Corbin.
