Wet weather did not postpone the Danville-Pulaski ballgame.

The Danville Braves picked up a win at American Legion Field, downing the Pulaski Yankees, 2-1. On the mound for Danville was right-hander Vinny Montenegro, who played a pivotal role in the win. Montenegro got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Matt Kelley earned the save for Danville, his 1st.

Aaron Padgett drove in one run for Danville. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ben Escamilla. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"Vinny just settled in and did what he does," said Danville manager Hector Vanegas.

The 6th-place Braves sport a record of 6-12.
