Win Goes to Giants in Tight Contest
|
San Francisco (Rk+) and Baltimore (Rk+) played a hard-fought contest.
Rafael Garibay was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Ballpark of Pearl River. In fact, the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants left-hander was instrumental in his team's 3-1 victory over the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles. The win belonged to Gil Bieker in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tony Adams took the loss for Baltimore (Rk+).
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Shane York? The 22-year old second baseman York stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put San Francisco (Rk+) up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Baltimore (Rk+) manager Landon Moon.
The Giants improved their record to 12-5 by beating Baltimore (Rk+).
