Bluefield and Elizabethton engaged in a slugfest.

Jeremy O'Reilley was the difference-maker for the Bluefield Blue Jays in what turned into a shootout with the Elizabethton Twins. O'Reilley, who is tied for 6th in the APP in stolen bases with 6, went 2-for-3 in the 11-10 Blue Jays win. The winner was Aaron Hoagland in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Brad Blanchard took the loss. Picking up the save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher David Jolly.

With Bluefield leading 10-4 in the top of the eighth, O'Reilley hit a run-scoring single off Elizabethton hurler Dusty Boydstun. It was the 16th hit of the season for O'Reilley and put his team ahead, 11-4.

Elizabethton manager Mike Schmeling said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score in double digits, you expect to win the game."

The 6th-place Blue Jays now sit at 6-15.
