Big Day for Ferrer as Royals Down Phillies, 6-3
|
Kansas City and Philadelphia duked it out and the Royals came out victorious.
The timely hitting of Francisco Ferrer helped the Kansas City Royals down the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-3. Ferrer went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Royals. The winning pitcher was Antonio Aguilar. He's now 4-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Royals.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Ferrer hit a run-scoring single off Philadelphia hurler Dan Lash. It was the 45th hit of the season for Ferrer and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Ferrer told the Kansas City Gazette. "You win just by scoring more runs."
Philadelphia now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
