Greeneville Dismisses Bristol, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Bill Barrow gave the Greeneville Astros a rock-solid effort. The Wausau, Wisconsin native helped his team defeat the Bristol Pirates, 3-2, at Devault Memorial Stadium. Barrow, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Greeneville now owns a record of 11-10.
Greeneville relied on the hitting of Kyle Croson to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Astros on top, 3-0. For the game, Croson had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Croson.
