Giants Drop Royals, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Jordan Ramos was a major factor in the 5-1 San Francisco (Rk+) Giants triumph over the Burlington Royals. The Giants improved their record to 11-11 by beating Burlington.
The Giants got a big at-bat from center fielder Jose Lara. For the game, Lara went 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave San Francisco (Rk+) a 1-0 lead.
In postgame comments to the San Francisco (Rk+) Daily News, Ramos said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
