San Francisco (Rk+) Beats Bluefield in 11-Inning Thriller
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tyler Forsythe into a win. Instead, the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants prevailed, 5-2, in 11 innings. Forsythe threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Jason Brose picked up the win in relief. Travis Nesbitt took the loss for Bluefield. The third-place Giants improved to 14-10.
San Francisco (Rk+) used a timely hit from Dennis Green to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Giants ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Bluefield manager Nate Todaro.
