Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Bristol fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Mets had to.

The Kingsport Mets got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-2 win over the Bristol Pirates. Doing his part was first baseman Wei-kang Lu. Lu went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kingsport sits in second place in the West at 15-9.

Kingsport won the game in part because of John Stinson. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. For the game, Stinson had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

Bristol manager Jason de Jong called the blowout loss "not my idea of a good time."
