Seattle Mariners starter Tony Walsh pitched a strong game against the Houston Astros at Safeco Field, leading the Mariners to victory, 6-5. At 16-27, the Mariners find themselves in last place in the American League West Division.

Had Evan Hendry not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hendry hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Mariners.

"We ground out the win," said Hendry. "That's all that matters."
