Orioles Rally Late to Clip Danville
|
The Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles got a magnificent performance from pitcher Alex Alanis, who muffled the Danville offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Orioles win at Ballpark of Pearl River. Chris LeMarr earned the save, his 1st, for the Orioles. With the victory, the Orioles upped their record to 17-9.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Dan Yana came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Danville pitcher Prazeres Dez, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baltimore (Rk+) on top, 2-1.
"Alex was throwing strikes, locating well," said Baltimore (Rk+) manager Landon Moon.
