Royals Defeat Orioles, 6-0
|
Burlington pitcher Trace Bale did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles, 6-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Burlington now has a record of 19-9 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steve Sax? The Burlington catcher had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Royals on top, 2-0. For the game, Sax had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Sax. "I just want to win ballgames."
