6 Straight Wins for Red Sox
|
Danville got a valiant performance from pitcher Rafael Hernandes, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston (Rk+) Red Sox. Boston (Rk+) won the game, 6-3. Hernandes threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Sean Clark. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. David Hardaway wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
Melvin Villanueva went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks for Boston (Rk+). The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Garrett Westbrook. It was his 4th walk of the season.
Boston (Rk+) manager Ramon Barragan commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
The Red Sox have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
