Rays Deal Red Sox 8-5 Defeat
|
Brooks Fields was a major contributor to the 8-5 Princeton win over Boston (Rk+). The Rays second baseman was 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Princeton starter Kelvin Zorrilla was credited with the win after throwing 82 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Chris Mlnarik earned the save for Princeton, his 5th of the year.
Ruben Figueroa dealt the Red Sox a blow in the top of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Princeton leading 2-0, Figueroa hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"Winning is the only objective," said Fields after the game.
The win gives Princeton a season record of 17-13.
