Victory Over Blue Jays Takes Elizabethton to 20-12
|
The Elizabethton Twins extended their winning streak.
Leo Bautista impressed in the 7-1 Elizabethton win over Bluefield. Bautista, who is tied for 5th in the APP in runs scored with 23, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Elizabethton has now won 6 games in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Joe Biddix? The Elizabethton catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Twins on top, 3-0. For the game, Biddix had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Elizabethton skipper Mike Schmeling.
