Win Lifts Rays to 18-13
|
The Princeton Rays beat the Elizabethton Twins by a score of 9-8. Princeton first baseman Teruo Nakamura deserved the lion's share of the credit. Nakamura was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rays. Princeton has a record of 18-13, placing them second in the East.
Ruben Montero had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Princeton. With the bases loaded and the Rays leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Nakamura told the Princeton Gazette. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
