Blue Jays Drop Contest, 6-1, to San Francisco (Rk+)
|
San Francisco (Rk+) starter Warren Renna put a stranglehold on the Bluefield offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Giants to a 6-1 win. Bluefield's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
San Francisco (Rk+) used a well-timed hit by Chris Slemp to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Giants ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Bluefield skipper Nate Todaro.
