6-1 Win by Royals Continues Hot Start
|
Burlington took on San Francisco (Rk+) in front of a lively crowd.
Burlington Royals pitcher Garrett Youngblood was in top form, leading his team past the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 6-1. Youngblood yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-0.
Robby Rothove had a big bases-clearing triple for the Royals in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Burlington leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Borstad and swatted a triple to right. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 5-0.
Said losing manager Chris Aversa: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
The Royals, at 28-8, lead by one game in their division.
