Blue Jays Get Past Kingsport for 2-1 Win
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays faced a tough opponent in Kingsport pitcher Mike Miller, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Bowen Field by a final score of 2-1. Miller went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Victor Gilbert locked down his 5th save. At 19-20, the Blue Jays are currently 5th in the East.
Bluefield took a 2-1 lead on Guillermo Naranjo's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Naranjo hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kingsport pitcher Ben Johnson shaking his head.
Naranjo said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
