|
Burlington Royals starter Frank Rivera led his team to victory over the Pulaski Yankees, 3-2. The left-hander was locked-in. The winner was Rivera. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Sonny Davidson. Nate Mendoza wrapped it up, recording his 4th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Will Gilmore delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Burlington designated hitter hit a run-scoring single, putting the Royals in front, 3-2.
"I haven't slept well in more than a week," said losing manager Erik Bowman. "And when I do sleep, I dream about Elvis. Go figure."
Now 6-31, Pulaski has dropped 10 games in a row.
