In 10, Milwaukee Sinks Philadelphia, 6-3
|
The Milwaukee Brewers withstood a good performance by Philadelphia first baseman Quincy Herbert to knock off Philadelphia, 6-3, in 10 innings. Herbert was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Milwaukee pitcher Luke Deyo earned the win, hiking his record to 2-2. Nate Williams suffered the loss. Alejandro Lozano saved it for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Bernie Sanchez to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Brewers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Philadelphia manager John Lucidi.
After today's action, Milwaukee sits at 19-24, while Philadelphia falls to 17-27.
