The Bluefield Blue Jays, behind a great outing from Josh Shields defeated the Elizabethton Twins, 3-1, at Joe O'Brien Field. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 16-24.

Dave Ortiz had a direct impact on the outcome. Ortiz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Bluefield up, 1-0.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ortiz told the Bluefield Citizen. "Whatever it takes."
