The Bluefield Blue Jays picked up a win at Joe O'Brien Field, dropping the Elizabethton Twins, 3-0. Joe Carlson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2110 draft, was the difference-maker. Carlson got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Bluefield is in third place in the East with a record of 24-18.
Early in the game, designated hitter Bill Raney had a 2-run home run for Bluefield. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0.
