Orioles 4-3 Victors Over Princeton
|
The Princeton Rays could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Chris Bones into a win. Instead, the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles prevailed, 4-3. Bones threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner was Mike West in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ken Brusky took the loss. Jimmy Gill was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Tim Bristol drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Baltimore (Rk+). The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ken Brusky. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Baltimore (Rk+) manager Jose Sierra.
Baltimore (Rk+) is now 25-15, Princeton 17-25.
