Elizabethton Loses, 4-1, to Johnson City in 10
|
The Johnson City Cardinals dealt the Elizabethton Twins a 4-1 loss in 10 innings at Joe O'Brien Field. Andy Morrison was the star on offense. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The 4th-place Cardinals improved to 21-23.
Morrison had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a full count cutter from Paul Salmon, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Cardinals a 4-0 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Morrison.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Elizabethton manager Franklin Jimenez.
