The Burlington Royals topped the Pulaski Yankees, 14-5, with youngster Manny Hernandez playing a key role. Hernandez hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 8 for the Royals in the win. The winner was Burlington reliever Michael Becerra, now 1-0. The loser was Bobby Nilsen. The Royals have an impressive 35-10 record.

With Burlington leading 9-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Hernandez came up to bat against Pulaski pitcher Danny Viquez. Hernandez hit a cutter to left for a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Royals on top, 13-4.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hernandez.
