Joe O'Brien Field was the site for Appalachian League action featuring the Elizabethton Twins and Kingsport Mets.

The Kingsport Mets powered past the Elizabethton Twins, 12-4, at Joe O'Brien Field. Kevin Lopp provided some of the pop. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The second-place Mets lifted their record to 26-16.

John Stinson had a big run-scoring double for the Mets in the top of the third inning. With Kingsport leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Matt Parnell, who is tied for 9th in the APP in innings pitched with 51.0, and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 3-1.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Stinson.
