16 Straight Wins for Rays
The Princeton Rays picked up a win at H.P. Hunnicutt Field, topping the Bluefield Blue Jays, 10-5. On the mound for Princeton was left-hander Chris Bones. He played a principal role in the triumph. Matt Laws earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-0. Now 37-9, the Rays have won 16 games in a row.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jeff Sheeley came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Bluefield pitcher David Jolly, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Princeton on top, 6-5.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Princeton manager Rusty Brady.
