Rays Take Nail-Biter Over Blue Jays
David Buckner was the difference-maker for the Princeton Rays in what turned into a shootout with the Bluefield Blue Jays. Buckner, who is tied for 5th in the APP with a .439 on-base percentage, went 3-for-5 in the 13-9 Rays win. Fernando Perez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Princeton, having won 17 in a row, is now 38-9.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Princeton. That's when 24-year old center fielder Andy Walsh hit a grand slam home run off Yoshiharu Ikeda to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"Eventually, the carousel ride will end," said Walsh. "But for now, we'll do our best to enjoy it."
