4-3 Loss Extends Detroit Losing Streak
The Colorado Rockies dealt the Detroit Tigers a 4-3 loss at Colorado Field. Brian Schoenberg was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The 4th-place Rockies improved to 22-21.

The Tigers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Rockies going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old second baseman Willie Montelongo came to the plate. Montelongo hit a solo home run on a 2-0 fastball from Detroit hurler Kenneth Jones. It was Montelongo's 5th home run of the year.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Colorado manager Trevor Taka.
