Twins Squeeze By San Francisco (Rk+), 2-1
|
San Francisco (Rk+) wasted a solid 6.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Jordan Ramos, losing to Elizabethton, 2-1, at Joe O'Brien Field. The win was credited to Dustin Caudill in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Jose Aguilar took the loss. Elizabethton has a record of 25-21, placing them 4th in the West.
Jesse Barker drove in one run for Elizabethton. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jose Aguilar. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Twins manager Franklin Jimenez, "I like our chances."
