The Houston Astros earned a win at Safeco Field, stopping the Seattle Mariners, 5-2. Starting pitcher Kihachi Okuhara played a big role in his team's success. Ethan Gordon nailed down his 2nd save. The second-place Astros sport a record of 24-21.

Houston needed the clutch hitting of Willie Valiente to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Astros on top, 5-2. For the game, Valiente had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
