Braves Hang 4-1 Loss on Nationals
|
Atlanta pitcher Ryan Peed did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Nationals, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Peed, now 2-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Braves raised their record to 19-26.
Chipping in for Atlanta was catcher Matt Varner. He stroked a double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Varner went 2 for 3 with a double.
