Brewers Earn Late Win
|
Good production from catcher Brian Duncan helped the Milwaukee Brewers topple the Cincinnati Reds, 8-7. Duncan went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Brewers. Victor Portillo earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-3. Milwaukee, having won 10 in a row, is now 35-11.
Ryan Knee drove in one run for Milwaukee. The 29-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Corey Comer. It was his 27th RBI of the season.
"We'll keep riding this wave," said Duncan.
