The Boston Red Sox defeated the Houston Astros, 4-1, in American League action at Fenway Park. Boston pitcher Colin Marko had a standout performance. Boston reliever Francisco Quintanilla picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Josh Jones took the loss. William Stuck got the save, the 7th for him this season.

Boston took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Tyler Brown hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Boston in front, 2-1.

"I still think this team can play even better," Marko told the Boston News.

The 'W' lifts Boston's record to 27-18.
