Red Sox Nudge Past Cardinals, 6-5
The Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

The Boston Red Sox needed 13 innings to beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-5, at Fenway Park. The win was due in part to third baseman Cameron Goudy, who went 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Boston, at 20-25, sits in last place in the American League East Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mike Thomas in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off former first round draft pick Danny Torres to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"This house was rockin'," Goudy said.
