Blue Jays Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners.
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Safeco Field, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 2-1. Starting pitcher Greg Earle was an essential part of his team's success. Their 29-16 record puts the Blue Jays first in the American League East Division.
Toronto used a clutch hit from John Slaff to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Toronto manager Dan Silva.
