The High Desert Mavericks withstood a fine game by San Jose first baseman John Barlow at Stater Bros. Stadium, to upend the Giants, 7-6. Barlow was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Josh Young earned his 17th save, after closing out the game. High Desert now owns a record of 58-76.

Jesus Garcia helped out the High Desert cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks.
