Blaze Dealt 4-0 Loss by Rancho Cucamonga
|
The Bakersfield Blaze went down to defeat to Mike Uriostegui and his Rancho Cucamonga teammates. The final score was 4-0, in favor of the Quakes. Uriostegui, now 5-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Rancho Cucamonga raised its record to 83-54 with the win.
Danny Ponzio had a big 2-run home run for the Quakes in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Rancho Cucamonga leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Tom Frye and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Quakes on top, 3-0.
"I executed the game plan," said Uriostegui.
