Rock 'Em! Sock 'Em! Mayes Blasts 3 Homers in Visalia Win

The Visalia Rawhide beat the Stockton Ports, 6-3, at Banner Island Ballpark. Jaime Mayes, who leads the CAL in home runs with 25, starred for Visalia. He hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Luke Gadsden, the winner, goes to 8-7. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Mario Morales got the save, his 7th in 13 chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Holloway? The Visalia second baseman had a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rawhide on top, 4-1. For the game, Holloway had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Holloway. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
The first-place Rawhide now have a win-loss record of 83-54.
