The Stockton Ports beat the Visalia Rawhide, 7-5, at Banner Island Ballpark. The Ports got a fine performance from left fielder Joe Card, who went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Rich Johnson earned the save for Stockton, his 1st of the year. The Ports now have a record of 54-84.

In the bottom of the fifth, Stockton center fielder Steven Tranchina had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Tranchina stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-3, Stockton. For the game, he went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Card told the Stockton Chronicle.
