Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Ports
The Stockton Ports went home winners at The Hanger, thanks in large part to starter Mike Nall. Nall stifled the Lancaster JetHawks, enabling Stockton to grab the 1-0 win. Alex Ponce, 6-6, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Robby Melena was credited with the save for Stockton, his 2nd of the season.

Stockton used the timely hitting of Mike Parfitt to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ports on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Francis Prettitore. "That was the problem."

Stockton is now 70-70, while Lancaster is 73-67.
