66ers Suffer 7-4 Setback
The High Desert Mavericks picked up a win at San Manuel Stadium, knocking off the Inland Empire 66ers, 7-4, in 11 innings. On the mound for High Desert was right-hander Danny Padilla. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The last-place 66ers dropped to 54-86.

High Desert needed the clutch hitting of Hermenegildo Valbom to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Mavericks on top, 7-4. For the game, Valbom had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Danny showed up tonight," said High Desert manager Danny Alonso.
