Tigers Suffer 7-4 Loss to Astros
Luis Rodas, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 73, propelled his team to victory over the Detroit Tigers. The final score was 7-4, Houston. Rodas, now 4-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The Astros go to 18-27 with the win.

The Tigers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Astros going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old third baseman Mario Alvarado came to the plate. Alvarado hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 changeup from Detroit hurler Alex Garza. It was Alvarado's 3rd home run of the year.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Alvarado.
