Nationals Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Giants
Fans who congregated at Nationals Park were treated to extra-inning drama.

The San Francisco Giants overcame a pretty good performance by Washington catcher Gerwin Beekhuizen, beating the Nationals, 13-10, at Nationals Park. Beekhuizen went 3 for 6 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Adam Barton came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

San Francisco needed the clutch hitting of Chris Allen to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 16th inning to put the Giants on top, 12-10. For the game, Allen had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

Allen called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."

San Francisco, at 18-27, holds down last place in the National League West Division.
