Giants Rally to Win
|
The San Francisco Giants topped the Boston Red Sox, 7-6, in 10 innings. San Francisco first baseman Kyle Phillips, in particular, was impressive. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win was credited to Jim Doll in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jamie White took the loss. The Giants, at 19-28, sit in last place in the National League West Division.
Jon Swanson came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I had a good game," said Phillips. "Winning makes it even better."
