Athletics Lose Late to Twins
|
Minnesota and Oakland got after it at O.co Coliseum.
The Minnesota Twins locked up a win at O.co Coliseum, knocking off the Oakland Athletics, 5-3. On the mound for Minnesota was right-hander Andres Rubio. He played a major role in the triumph. Minnesota reliever Adrian Tipton picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Jesus Rivera took the loss. Mark Campbell picked up his 8th save of the season.
Josh Morgan came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We're all smiles after that win," Rubio told the Minnesota Observer.
The second-place Athletics dropped to 22-25.
