Braves Handled by Milwaukee, 5-3
|
Atlanta designated hitter Carlos Carballo had a good game, even if his team did not. The Braves dropped a 5-3 decision to Milwaukee at Miller Park. Carballo went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mike Baxter, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits. Chris Hellige recorded his 2nd save for Milwaukee.
Alex Cruz had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third, when he hit a solo home run. His 11th home run of the season put Milwaukee on top, 3-1.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Cruz told the Milwaukee Herald.
The Brewers, at 25-22, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.
