Yankees Deal Blue Jays 5-4 Setback
The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-4, in American League action at Yankee Stadium. New York pitcher Andy Eason had a standout performance. Eason, the winner, moves to 4-5. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. The Yankees now own a record of 20-27.

New York right fielder Eric Fairweather contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 3-1.
